Mchungaji Mwema, which is translated as 'The Good Shepherd', is a Secondary School in the Ngara District of the Kagera Regaion of Tanzania. Mchungaji Mwema Secondary School opened in February 2007 under the Diocese of Kagera . The School caters for Secondary School students from Form 1 - Form 4. It offers all subjects in the Tanzanian curriculum which includes; Maths, English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Civics, History, French, Kiswahili and Geography.

Mchungaji Mwema Secondary School is located just outside Ngara town on the ridge. At present it has 5 completed buildings and another 2 under construction. It has two classrooms per form and one well equipped science laboratory. It plans to cater for 350 students with an average of 90 students per year divided into two classes of 45 each.

Under construction is the final classroom block which when completed will house Form 1, a library and a computer lab. There are plans to expand the School to include co-educational boarding facilities.

At present students not from the Ngara area rent rooms in town and live independently.

Whilst a Diocese School, Mchungaji Mwema was established and continues to be supported by a funds raised through a New Zealand based organisation called Ed Aid – Educational Aid for International Development.
